The new WKF Anti-Doping Rules, which have been formally declared in line by the World Anti-Doping Agency on 18 December 2014, have come into effect on 1st January 2015. The new document can be downloaded on the WKF’s anti-doping webpage on http://www.wkf.net/pdf/2015-wkf-anti-doping-rules.pdf
“WKF welcomes the revised Code approach that provides tougher sanctions for intentional cheats, while more flexibility is permitted in sanctioning such cases where an Athlete can demonstrate inadvertent doping and that he or she was not cheating”, said Rafael Arriaza, Chairman of the WKF Medical Commission. “In addition, WKF acknowledges the new “Technical Document for Specific Analysis” as an effort to adopt smarter and more effective testing programs to address particular doping risks, rather than the former “one size fits all” approach”.

TOKYO (AP) Karate is making a push to be part of the program for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
New reforms by the IOC have given karate officials renewed hope that the martial art could be added to the Tokyo games and the head of the World Karate Federation is meeting with 2020 organizers to make his case for the sport's inclusion.

Presedintele Comitetului Olimpic si Sportiv Roman (COSR), Domnul Alin Petrache ,a primit vizita Altetelor Lor Regale Principesa Mostenitoare Margareta si Principele Radu, luni, 9 martie a.c., la Casa Olimpica din Bucuresti.
Altetele Lor Regale au vizitat Casa Olimpica, iar apoi au plantat un copac pe esplanada din fata cladirii.
Urmeaza ca Ceremonia de acordare a Inaltului Patronaj al Majestatii Sale Regelui Mihai I, pentru COSR, sa aiba loc in seara zilei de astazi de la ora 19.00, la Palatul Elisabeta.

The Championship
The European Karate Championships are organised by the European Karate Federation each year.
Events from 1966 to 1996 were organized by the European Karate Union. In 1961, Jacques Delcourt was appointed President of French Karate, which was at that stage, an associated member of the Judo Federation. In 1963, he invited six other known European federations (Italy, Great Britain, Belgium, Germany, Switzerland and Spain) to come to France for the first-ever international karate event. Great Britain and Belgium accepted the invitation.
By 1965, the European Karate Union was created with Jacques Delcourt voted in as President. The following year the first European Karate Championships were held in Paris.
